SESSION INFO
What Should I Wear? What you wear for your session can be fun and really enhances your photos, but I know this can also be very stressful for a lot of people. Try to focus on coordinating colors within your oufits without being too "matchy-matchy". Use accessories to add pops of color and bring the outfits together. Neon colors and busy patterns tend to distract from faces, so stay with more subtle patterns and color schemes. Pinterest is a great place to get ideas for color schemes that really work well together!
What Time of Day is Best to Schedule a Session? Ideally, it is best to take pictures when the sunlight is the prettiest, and that is earlier in the morning and about 2 hours before sunset. I understand that those times don't always work with nap schedules, though, so what matters most is that you schedule for the time of day when your kids are the happiest!
What Location is Best for Pictures? Columbus offers so many gorgeous parks and backdrops for photo shoots. I love it! I have several locations where I tend to go for sessions, but I always love going to new places. If you have a place in mind, that is great, and if you need some suggestions, I am happy to help you out in that area!
How Do I Schedule a Session? You can e-mail me through my Contact Page, and I will get back to you with some potential dates/times. During the late summer and fall months leading up to Christmas, session times fill up very quickly, so it is better to schedule a session sooner rather than later if you are hoping for some beautiful fall color.
What Should I Bring to My Session? I will bring some props and blankets, but if there is an item that you really want in your pictures, please feel free to bring it! Some fun ideas to bring are: bubbles, balloons, baskets, blankets, banners, instruments, etc. I want your pictures to reflect you! I also recommend bringing non-messy snacks for younger kids in case they start to get cranky (or need a little bribe!).
I Am About to Have a Baby. What Do I Need to Know for a Newborn Session? The best window of time to take your newborn's pictures is within the first 10 days. Before you have your baby, we can schedule a tentative date for pictures, and then once your little bundle arrives, please contact me to finalize the session date/time. Newborn sessions can take anywhere from 2-4 hours and require quite a bit of patience because in this case, the baby gets to be the boss! I have a studio in my basement and am set up for everything you need, including props, blankets, hair bows, etc., so you don't need to provide anything unless you want to.
